IC 1848 - The Soul Nebula An emission nebula in the Perseus arm of the Cassiopeia region of our Milky Way galaxy. The Soul Nebula part of the famous Heart and Soul Nebula pair (see separate page for the Heart Nebula)and is around 150 light years across. Although generally referred to as IC1848 the Soul Nebula is actually made up of several open stars clusters and various emission nebula, each with their own designations.
